What's New

The most important updates from the last few weeks — many of them straight from your feedback. Thanks for thinking along.

💱
Display currencyNew
A switcher in the header (EUR, USD, GBP, CHF, JPY, CNY) — display only, no conversion. Handy if you'd rather not see your numbers in euros.
🧮
Adjustable capital gains taxNew
Instead of a fixed 25%, there's now a slider (0–50%) — it applies equally to all assets, so ETFs and cash deposits alike.
🧭
Desktop progress indicatorNew
A slim bar at the top of the header shows where you are (Gap → Close → Compare) — click to jump straight to that section.
Scenario comparison improvedNew
Usage and content reworked: the comparison now updates live as you change your inputs, and also shows the portfolio growth of both scenarios side by side.
Header declutteredImproved
The navigation links are now tucked into a menu; currency and language remain the only visible elements.
📱
Clearer mobile progressImproved
The bottom navigation bar now shows numbered circles with checkmarks for completed steps instead of icons.
🎛️
Advanced assumptions collapsibleImproved
Inflation, pension indexation, and pension deductions are now collapsed by default — the current value still shows right in the header.
💬
Clearer comparison messagingImproved
If nothing has changed since scenario A, it now says so explicitly instead of sending you back without explanation.
🔧 Checked and fixed
  • The calculation logic remains byte-for-byte identical — verified via SHA-256 hash after every change.

🧭
Three steps to your resultNew
The calculator is now organized into three clear steps: Gap → Close → Compare. On desktop they sit one below the other — inputs on the left, results on the right, all visible at once. On mobile you move through them step by step instead of scrolling endlessly.
🚦
Your status stays in viewNew
Your traffic-light status and monthly gap now sit at the top and stay visible as you scroll. You always know where you stand, even further down the page.
🪧
Clearer guidanceImproved
Each step has its own heading, so you can see at a glance where you are and what comes next.
🔍
Pension-statement sketch on mobileImproved
The small sketch of your pension statement (which figure to read where) now shows on mobile too, and you can tap it to zoom in.
🔧 Checked and fixed
  • The calculation logic is still byte-for-byte identical — the 1,000-case verification was run again, all results correct. The new structure didn't touch the calculation core.
  • Language switch on mobile: was missing on the subpages and broken on the landing page. Now fixed.

💶
Where your retirement money comes fromNew
A new view right below the status indicator: it shows month by month up to age 100 what covers your needs — your income and withdrawals from your investments. Switchable to today's purchasing power.
🎨
Investments shown individuallyNew
Every investment now appears with its own label and colour in the chart, so you can find your positions again at a glance. Your monthly savings rate can be assigned to one of them.
🔁
How the withdrawal logic worksNew
An expandable explanation with a diagram right below the asset chart: why the buffer is built before retirement, where your savings rate flows during that time, and what the trade-off between liquidity and return means.
🏠
Other reserves at a glanceNew
Precious metals, property and fixed-term deposits now appear as a compact overview below the new chart — as a note, still without any effect on the calculation or the status indicator.
📱
Mobile: switch between inputs and resultsNew
On your phone you can now switch between inputs and results at the top instead of scrolling endlessly.
🗂️
Collapsible sectionsImproved
Every result block and the GRV estimator can be collapsed and expanded — and your chosen view is remembered. So everyone sees exactly what matters to them at a glance.
💰
Income during retirementImproved
“Pension sources” becomes “Income during retirement” — including private and company pensions, life insurance and rental income. The first step towards bringing property back into the calculation!
Clearer and easier to readImproved
More legible labels in the asset chart, a taller plot and clearer colours — plus a leaner interface where explanations move into info icons exactly where they are needed.
Scenario comparison with more detailImproved
The comparison now shows more comprehensively which inputs differ between scenario A and B — including inflation, pension indexation, interest, retirement need and retirement age. Changed assumptions come first, since they explain the differences in results. The comparison is also fully translated now.
🔧 Verified and small things
  • The calculation logic is byte-for-byte identical to v8. As a check, the verification across 1,000 cases was run again — all results correct. So despite many change steps, the core remained untouched.
  • The country selection (Germany or another country) is now available on the German page too.
  • Cash now sits above investments, fixed-term deposits are their own reserve — plus more honest notes on the safety buffer and taxes.

📈
Adjustable pension indexationNew
Your statutory pension now grows too: the annual pension indexation is adjustable (0–3.5%, default 2.5%) and feeds into the annual gap, the buffer and the status indicator. Validated against an independent 500-scenario test suite plus 1,000 additional cases with indexation rates between 0.5 and 3%, cross-checked with a second AI (Gemini) — the only two discrepancies turned out, after manual review, to be errors in the cross-check.
🌍
Country selection in the English versionNew
The English version now asks which country your statutory pension comes from — the German GRV estimator only appears when Germany is selected.
🧹
Lighter interfaceImproved
Less permanent text, more on demand: explanations moved into info icons and collapsible boxes (including the withdrawal strategy and the gap calculation walkthrough), the two annual tables share one card with a tab switch, and gender and inflation scenario are now buttons.
📊
Buffer build-up marked in the chartNew
The wealth chart now shows when the annual shift into cash begins — the rise shortly before retirement is strategy, not a bug. Thanks for flagging this in the feedback!
🔧 A few bug fixes
  • The assumption line in the calculation walkthrough showed scrambled values (e.g. “over 1.000000 yrs”) — display fixed and simplified.
  • The action links in the status indicator now jump straight to the savings rate input.
  • The GRV estimator now reliably labels the transferred pension as “GRV” in the list.

🌍
Now available in EnglishNew
The most-requested feature is here: versorgt is now fully available in English. Switch in the top right — your language is remembered.
🧭
Simplified to get started fasterImproved
The basic version has been cleaned up and simplified — for a quick, easy start without unnecessary inputs. Switch to the advanced version anytime for more control.
🥇
New strategy for precious metalsNew
Gold and silver are now only sold once the ETF reserve is fully used up — as a last reserve, before the cash buffer shrinks. With its own, adjustable return assumption.
🔧 A few bug fixes
  • The status indicator and withdrawal chart could contradict each other (status said "well covered" while the simulation showed capital running out earlier) — both now use the same calculation.
  • Fixed overlapping labels in the charts.
  • Consistent color coding across both charts (ETF always blue, cash always green).
